WHY THE HECK DID people think this was a good idea? Bart looked around after zipping into Arkham City. Already he wanted to run right out. Criminals could run around freely and cause mayhem. What was the point to that? Wasn't prison supposed to be a punishment to them for commiting the crimes they did? How was having their own city a punishment? The teenager was snapped out of his thoughts as he suddenly felt something make contact with him. He looked at his shoulder... A rotten tomato?
"Wow, real original," the speedster said dryly as he looked at the guy that had thrown it. He looked like a gangster, covered in tattoos with a couple other guys standing near him. The teen stood facing the men, hands on his hips and head tilted slightly to the side. "Honestly, is that the best you guys got? Oh my God! A tomato! I'm sure in for it now!" He snickered to himself and grinned at how the men seemed to get irritated.
He covered his mouth to hold in a laugh as one of them grabbed a bat as if he was trying to be threatening. He probably would have been, if he wasn't dealing with a loud-mouthed teenager with enhanced speed. "Oh, I'm so scared! Catchmeifyoucan!" As he said the last part, he bolted, his feet taking him down the street in a flash, leaving a trail of dust behind. He glanced back behind him to see if they were stupid enough to try to catch up with him. He was cut off, however, as he slammed into someone and stumbled onto his butt-- which at the speed he had been running, hurt a lot.
"Oww," Kid Flash moaned, standing up and rubbing his tail bone. He grumbled to himself before looking up irritably at who he had ran into. If he knew the person and said person was a fellow hero, or a civilian, he would apologize. If said person was a big time villain, he would run like a bad out of hell depending on which villain.

Well, that had hurt like hell and something else. What the devil had run into him, anyway? It couldn’t have been a car, he would have heard it a mile away. It couldn’t have been Bane or anyone else who was built like a brick wall either, for those same reasons. There was very, very little that could sneak past his hearing after all. Batman included, so there was no way it could be the dark Knight mistaking him for a criminal.
It could be a teenaged speedster, though. That made sense.
“You know, I’m pretty sure I had right of way.” Hartley drawled, not entirely seriously, as he picked himself up and moved to offer Bart a hand to his feet. They had both ended on the deck after that little run in; although the Pied Piper had a feeling he was the only one who would wake up with bruises tomorrow. It must be nice to be a speedster and have somewhat accelerated healing.
What was Bart doing here, within these walls, anyway? Unless it was curiously, the teenager didn’t have a reason to look into something like Arkham City, right? Dangers like this was better left to the Justice League, the Titans, or the Bat Family, given their connection to most of the rogues locked up in this prison. Whatever the case, he would have preferred Bart stay away from this kind of place. It was bad enough that Wally and David were in Gotham.
Hartley heaved a sigh, agitated by his own thoughts and worries. He was being overprotective again, wasn’t he? Wally would call him out on it if he knew; he would be a right pain in the neck and say he was acting like a mother hen. Thankfully the Pied Piper was dealing with Bart rather than Wally. “Are you alright?”

BART FELT GUILTY WHEN he realized who he had run into. Why couldn't it have been some villain he despised? That way, he wouldn't have to feel bad. He gratefully took the help up, giving Hartley an apologetic smile. "Heh, sorry about that." He hadn't known the man was in Gotham, in fact he wasn't sure who exactly was. He faintly remembered something about Wally being in town, but since he had yet to run into him, he wasn't sure. "Pft, I'm fine, a bit sore at the moment, but I'll heal." His guilt quickly returned as he looked at Hartley with slight worry. "Are you okay? I didn't mean to run into you like that. Guess I should have been watching where I was going."
The young speedster glanced at his shoulder, frowning as he noticed a small speck of the tomato still on him. He swiped at it, rubbing so it would come off. He didn't want his costume to get stained, after all. It would be a pain in his rear end to get out. Quickly, however, his attention was pulled away from it and back to the Pied Piper. "Hey, what are you doing in Gotham? Let alone this place. I mean I can't really see you getting locked up here. Sowhatyoudoin'here?" He hardly noticed that around the end, his speech picked up speed and was probably a blur of sound. He was used to talking fast, so he rarely noticed when he tongue switched speed. It was just natural to him.
"SayhaveyouseenFlash?" Kid Flash didn't pay attention to see if he had given Hartley enough time to respond to his first question or not. He was still talking fast as he looked around, his attention span straining to wait for the answer. Once he was done checking out Arkham City, he planned on finding his cousin so he could bug him. Or well, bug him was one way to put it. He did miss Wally and wanted to catch up, besides, it was nice to work with another speedster from time to time. After all, he was the only speedster in the Teen Titans.
