Selina leaned against a wall, staring out big bay windows of a dead shop. Everything outside was dead, ruined, being run by morons and loons. She shook her head, unable to believe that this was even started. Granted, it was a touch less likely that the criminals of Gotham would put all their attentions on Gotham proper. It also made them focus on killing each other off rather than innocents. None of this would prevent them from breaking out and taking over the rest of the city. This would be a preliminary round, working out the kinks and seeing who would come out on top.
Yeah, this was a bad idea. And how many innocent people could end up caught in here? The bad guys running around here would find a way to get hostages, find ways to make bad situations worse. Then Batman would come in, trying to clean the place up when there would be no possible end in sight. Bruce Wayne would fade and he would be entirely consumed by the caped crusader. He would die of exhaustion before he made a true dent in the horrors that this place held.
She let out a sigh, wondering if she should bother going outside. A shot would go off the second she stuck a whisker out there. Hell, she didn't have to do that. A bullet whizzed by, taking a bite out of the store front across the street. Maybe she would be an indoor cat tonight. Wait until morning for the bozo bin to die down and get a little rest. Sneaky as she was, she would prefer to scout the area without a death threat every three feet.

Eddie bit his tongue to silence a rather nasty curse, because that wouldn’t help right now, even though the sounds of fights and gunfire probably would drown any noise he made. It didn’t change that some people had spotted him, the kinds of people that would see a bullet in his head before they let him talk circles around them. He probably deserved it -- if not from his years as a rogue, then from his couple of months as an investigator.
What to do, what to do? He should be able to think of something, he had always been good at that after all. This wasn’t even the first time he’d had someone with a gun after him, and these mooks couldn’t match the likes of Hush or Joker even if they tried. They definitely couldn’t match Hush’s brutality or Joker’s insanity.
Eddie pressed his back against a rough brick wall and waited, his hold shifting on his cane. He could swing the thing pretty hard when he needed to, and this seemed like it would be one of those times -- or not, as the case might be. He quirked an eyebrow when the duo turned before they reached him, muttering complaints about how the damn Riddler had given them the slip. These people didn’t check corners? They mustn’t have ever dealt with Batman, then.
Well, whatever! Their stupidity was his gain, and it meant he could cross the street without any more shots aimed his way. He did just that, and slipped into a little shop that sat on the corner, overlooking a dirty street and a scattered newspaper. This damn place was such a bad idea... unless there was more to it, and with Hugo Strange running things? That might just be it.
“You pick romantic spots, Selina.” Eddie leant to where he could catch Selina’s gaze, one of his more charming smiles in place. He would have loved the fun of startling her, but he had a feeling she already knew he was here. Pity that, but at least it meant he would avoid a scratch across the face? “This place has a lovely view.” Well, a lovely view if you were sarcastic or liked grimy streets and gunfights...

Selina watched as men began walking in front of the windows, leaning back to make sure she was in the shadows. Some people would like to see her dead. Permanently. They didn't like her finicky ways. Those few times she sided with Batman just rubbed people the wrong way. Or maybe she just stole from them. That was a very likely scenario and she didn't want to give them the chance to take a shot at her. It was possible they didn't care about her either way, but she wasn't a woman that just took chances like that. She quite liked her lives and intended on keeping them as long as she could.
Noises started to grow closer, faded away, and continued that pattern. Without going outside, she would be able to tell if these people were fighting, looking for something, or just wandering around. The "big dogs" were trying to set up boundaries, she knew that much. Certain "criminal masterminds" thought they were suited to run Arkham City and those minds were clashing big time. Finding the lines between one section and another was hard to find, undefined as of yet.
It didn't seem like the stores were going to be of much use. The thief was hiding out in one so therefore they were neutral territory for now. The fact that Edward Nygma could wander into one also proved that. Being that he wasn't much of a villain these days gave proof that you didn't have to hold a "Bad Guy" membership card to come into the "city."
Only the best for you, Edward, dear, [/b] She replied, glancing his way. She raised a brow at the smile, wondering if she should rise to the bait or just turn away. She chose neither. Deciding not to react to his charm, the raven haired woman walked over to the reformed criminal, taking a seat near him. Angling herself, she continued to look out the window, wanting to make sure they had the chance to escape if anyone had a brief moment of intelligence and looked into the run down shop. She knew how highly unlikely that was, but it was better to be cautious until she had a better knowledge of this place. After a moment, Selina returned her gaze to Eddie. I can think of lovelier views. I have had better times than having bullets shot at me, She commented. Hell, she would run around Rome again opposed to this. Considering that was when Eddie was trying to screw her over, that was saying something. This is a bad idea.[/b] Of course, Catwoman was referring to Arkham City. She had to wonder if Edward thought the same thing. Knowing exactly where all his enemies were had to be a help to him. He wouldn't end up knocked on his ass at any given moment if everyone was "locked up" here.[/blockquote]

Eddie knew better than to think a dead shop, with it's rickety window frames and splintered door, could offer much shelter, but for now it would do. It was a lot better than standing in the street, at least. There were too many people here who would rather him dead, either because he had stolen from them, played them like chess pieces or because he had been the detective to solve their case. Either way, it made the streets quite dangerous for him.
Really, he was quite thankful Selina still humoured him, given how many times she'd found herself a piece on his chessboard. There had been that time in Rome, and then there had been her involvement in the plot with Hush -- that had been a grand manipulation too, one which involved deeper levels of wit and planning than some might think. After all, even the few who thought they were working with him had just been another layer of the game.
It was a pity how Hush had to figure that out in the end, and was now adamant about tearing Eddie's face off...
"It's sweet of you to think of me." He commented without missing a beat, though his sentence did trail off into a yawn. He would have loved to blame it on boredom, but sadly that wasn't the case, instead lack of sleep was catching up with him. He had taken his investigations a little too far it seemed, because he'd lost sleep and he probably wouldn't get more for a while. Arkham City didn't seem like the kind of place where he could take a catnap.
Eddie rubbed at his face and grumbled a brief complaint. He really shouldn't think about his waterside apartment or comfortable bed about now. That wasn't something that would help. It really, really wasn't. "It is a bad idea." Eddie frowned, while he decided to set aside banter for a moment to address the real concern here. "There's more to this, though." There was definitely more to it. There was a refugee camp for prisoners that shouldn't be in here, and.. Hugo Strange was up to something.

Catwoman gave a small sigh, unsure what to do now. They were a little stuck in the shop at the moment. There were men outside walking back and forth. Some of them were clearly of rival gangs. Two-Face's men were easy to pick out given that their jumpsuits were two-toned. Fitting. Joker's guys, though oddly few in number here, had clown make up. Of course. Didn't these guys have an original thought in their heads? Sure, their affiliation was easy to spot, but there was no finesse here. She made a rude sound and stopped staring out the window.
She gave Edward a small smile, unable to keep up the slight banter. This was just too sad a state to be able to have fun with word play at the moment. Worrying about this place would kill just about everyone that could get in and out. If they could do it, so could the criminals. Once the dogs were trained the way they wanted to be, they would snap the leash and run wide. How she hated these dogs.
Emerald eyes drifted over to the thin man, seeing him yawn. It looked like someone was ready for nap time. Putting those bad guys in here really wears a guy out, huh? [/b] She commented, amusement in her tone. She knew that Bruce pushed himself beyond the limits any normal person should. While Eddie had the brains to keep going, she would have thought him a little more selfish and put his cases off so he could get some rest. Was Edward Nygma actually trying to do serious good? That was a laugh. Shaking her head a little, Selina refocused on the massive amount of bad they were sitting in. Strange is going to use these guys for something. No one creates a cell-less madhouse for the greater good.[/b] It might take a while, but everyone in here would grow restless, tired of the same thing. Hugo would let that energy build then loose them on the city. Something. It twisted her gut to think of that. They would have been more manageable if things had stayed the way they had.[/blockquote]

Those men outside were a damned inconvenience. Two-Face and Joker were obvious threats, obvious heavy hitters and people Eddie would like to avoid. He was a smart man and would like to keep his life intact, while he was very certain the two rogues would like to see it ended -- or played with, in Joker’s sick case. Their Clown Prince of Crime was insane, violent but predictable in his anarchy.
Eddie tapped his fingers against the question mark ornament that topped his cane, and answered Selina with another look her way. “I can solve those in my sleep.” His cases were normally quite boring and tedious, admittedly. “I’ve been keeping awake while I look into this place.” There was a lot to investigate and strings to pull. Especially when he had snuck some old acquaintances into the ranks beneath the rogues.
There was also one other little issue he needed to keep an eye on for his health and safety. “Been keeping awake while I keep an eye on Ra’s’ assassins too.” He had pissed off the old man and his cult in ways even Eddie recognised were very, very dangerous. It wasn’t like he had a choice at the time, though. He was a selfish creature by nature and he’d needed the Lazarus pit.
Right, back to Strange. He was a larger worry and a safer topic. Selina didn’t need to know what he had been up to, though Eddie would tell her if she asked him to elaborate. He couldn’t lie, not with the form his OCD took, and he wouldn’t want to anyway. He had been a rogue once but he still hated liars and cheats.
“There’s definitely something up. I’ve managed to find out that everyone who worked on this place is now a prisoner themselves, though they don’t seem to know what the devil is going on for certain.” Eddie fished through his pockets until he found a cigarette carton and a book of matches, because cancer hadn’t taught him a damn thing. Besides, right now he could use the smoke.

The thief almost shook her head. For someone that was always out for number one, she didn't think sleep would take a backseat to all of this. She just like pushing his buttons, making it about the criminals when he thought majority of Gotham, good and bad, were morons. Of course, if he ever so much as implied that she wasn't smart than he would have a whole new issue to worry about, but that was moot for the moment. Don't let this place make you lose sleep. It's really purpose will be apparent soon enough, [/b] She said with a shrug. She shifted to give him a small smirk. You know how we all need attention.[/b] That would be a big reason why this place was around for Strange. He built it, its his baby, and everyone will be eyes on him for it. When the attention wears down though, then he'll show the gooey center of Arkham City and the nasty surprise it is. She didn't think Hugo could come up with a nasty center like Ra's and his gang though. Was that part of the City, or was that a personally thing for Eddie? That's a good reason to stay up,[/b] Selina conceded warily, eyes narrowing as she stared at the thin man. What damn fool thing did you do that would piss of Ra's and get his dogs on your tail?[/b] For such a smart guy, Eddie wasn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. He could wrap Gotham up in a bow and hand it to the highest bidder. He could push buttons and still get away. Sometimes, though, he was just as idiotic as the rest of the world. He pushed the wrong people's buttons far too much, and they caught him. It ended up in him always getting a royal ass kicking and if Ra's was involved, this wouldn't end quite so nicely. Shaking her head, Selina let her thoughts return to Arkham City and its terrible state. Those poor people. They were in here because they knew the inner workings of Strange's little pet, even if they didn't know all the details for it. Even the smallest bit of knowledge can ruin a person's life. That'll draw the big man in here, for sure,[/b] Selina sneered, not really wanting to see Batman at the moment. They were on a down swing as far as she was concerned and her body posture agreed. The thought of Bruce running around anywhere near her made her close herself off, legs crossing and arms over her chest. I think we should worry about our own tails in here, rather than theirs. They have their hero. We can be our own.[/b] Catwoman would much rather start finding somewhere actually safe right now. Her anger was going to make her antsy and she needed a better place to try and cool down. Given the sad state of this little shop, she didn't feel like she could really let loose while men that might want her dead walked passed.[/blockquote]

Eddie, arrogant as he was -- narcissistic as he was, considered a distressing amount of people idiots, particularly when compared with his own intellect. Bruce was a challenge and a man he almost missed butting heads with, but boredom and one sentence drove him to alter his chessboard. He wasn’t sure whether he liked the so called better side, especially when his cases bored him, but he hadn’t retaken his title as the Riddler yet.
While his cases failed to interest him however, what Strange had planned enticed his desire for a challenge. It also offered a way to stave off an almost ever present boredom with the everyday. Eddie was not an anarchist like the Joker, in fact he was the opposite and rather liked when there was some kind of order in place, but with an intellect like his it took a particular lot to keep him intrigued.
The dear doctor had managed to intrigue him...
“I’m not the kind to wait for answers, Selina.” Eddie cupped his hands around a cigarette whilst he lit it, the brief flare from the match turning blue eyes amber in the dim light. With that done he flicked the spent match aside and exhaled smoke. That was much better. It was needed too, because he had started to become restless with standing in the same spot in a dead and broken shop.
It seemed he needed the smoke for the next conversation too, because what he had done to infuriate the Demon’s Head was a damned fool thing. He could admit that much at least, though it was a damned fool thing he didn’t regret and would do over if necessary. Edward Nygma was not about to die to something as ridiculous and stupid as a self-inflicted medical condition. “I took a dip in one of his Lazarus pits.”
Ra’s was particularly possessive of those pools too, probably because they were only good for one dip and then you had to find another. Eddie was snoop enough to know where at least one other was, but he would rather avoid that unless it was absolutely needed. He was a smart man and knew there had to be negative side effects involved, and he would rather not accumulate too many of those in exchange for clearing his lungs.
Ra’s and his assassins made Batman a rather minor concern in his eyes, but it seemed tall, dark and brooding was a concern for the resident cat burglar. Eddie arched an eyebrow and favoured Selina with a smirk at that, perhaps overly amused with her bat woes. “Are you still having trouble with Batman? Do you need me to orchestrate another grand scheme that’ll draw you two together?”
That relationship had been a part of his Hush scheme after all, another layer to one of his best manipulations. It might not have been the most pleasant thing to know, but there it was, Eddie wouldn’t lie and say that the relationship wasn’t a part of his scheme. Batman was wrong in only one thing, and that was how he thought Selina had known about his plot. She hadn’t known about it at all.
“I don’t think I’m much of a hero either way.” Eddie knew he sure wasn’t his own hero, not with the trouble he found too often. He had Joker and Hush furious with him, Ra’s Al Ghul and his cult of assassins, Scarecrow and Killer Croc and there were probably some others he was forgetting. It kept things interesting at least. “I could pretend if I get to try on the cat suit again, though.”

Selina rolled her eyes, thinking Eddie silly for thinking this worth that much time. You act as if this is some great secret. He's a regular bad guy with tired out plans. She shook her head, thinking Eddie a moron for a brief moment. Honestly, if he couldn't see the simple mechanics behind this place yet then he was so overthinking things.
He's either waiting to use whoever wins this power struggle, or something's cooking down below. He's got a big cauldron of nasty spells workin' to make the nuts in this place harder to deal with. Given the predictability of the guys locked up here, it wasn't going to be some great feat. It would more than likely be something like pumping them full of Venom so they were just physically difficult.
He's going to make it so that Bruce and his band of brats need to call in re-enforcements, much to Brucie's chagrin. Then they would call in Superman, Wonder Weirdo, and the Justice dorks, lay waste to the city and be done with it. Yeah, sounded just like them. She let out a heavy sigh, wondering if she should consider moving somewhere else for a while. Yeah, that sounded good.
It sounded a lot better than waiting to be assassinated. The thief slowly turned to stare at Eddie, shocked that he would piss off Ra's of all people. Well, maybe that was taking it a little far. He was quite willing to piss off anyone and everyone. Still, it raised questions. You stole a bath of magic water from the assassin? What was so bad that modern medicine couldn't fix you? She asked quietly, almost as if she thought speaking of crossing Ra's was going to bring the beast down on them in this little, rundown shop.
Her earlier thoughts weren't so mean after all. Edward Nygma was just plain stupid. Well, one never could expect a guy to always have the brightest of ideas.
Pulling down her goggles, Catwoman rubbed her hands over her face, trying to think through everything that was going on. Arkham City, being on the outs with Bruce again, sitting here civilly discussing that with Eddie of all people. Yeah, her life wasn't weird or anything. Considering that he had screwed her over multiple times, she didn't understand why she was so forgiving of this man. It wasn't like there were good grounds for it.
Try to "draw us together" and you and that cane of yours will be inseparable in a most unpleasant way, Selina growled, glaring at him for even suggesting that. Anyone trying to "help" would end up with their asses thoroughly kicked courtesy of her. This time she was serious about not getting back together with the Bat. Most likely. Hopefully. Okay, so she couldn't say for sure, but she was sure as hell going to try.
It was going to be easier to find somewhere mildly safe here than trying to pull that trick off. Pushing to her feet, Selina dusted herself off. I think you can stay the annoying detective and not stretch out my leather, She retorted. Catching him in her cat suit hadn't been on her list of things she wanted to see.
I would sooner go around in a bright green suit. Waving the thought off, she started for the back door, beckoning him to follow. That annoying part of her deep down that was essentially good demanded that she take him to safety with her. It would be a slow way to go, but she didn't think it a good thing to leave him out in the open with all these gun-toting goons walking around.

Eddie snorted at Selina's quick dismissal, hardly impressed. There was more to this, he was certain, and his thief wasn't thinking about it as much as she should do. It was that bad habit that often turned her into a piece on his chessboard, much like the other rogues and the Bat himself. What Strange had planned wasn't like Eddie's manipulations however -- it wouldn't be something set up just to challenge a bored and clever mind.
"There has to be more to this than that." He was positive that there was more to this than a plan to make allegiances or unleash the horde, but the deeper plan? He didn't know that yet. He had barely scratched the surface however, and his skin itched with the very thought that he didn't know something that others might. Strange wasn't allowed to keep his schemes and manipulations to himself.
Eddie shifted his weight slightly, and then pushed away from where he leant against the counter. He didn't pace however, despite the urge. He would rather stay vigilant for thugs with guns than give into his need to move. "I know manipulations when I see them, and there's something more to Arkham City. Strange is playing everyone for fools and..."
He trailed off with a sudden curse, though it was laced with surprisingly little aggression. Eddie didn't swear particularly often, his tongue more eloquent than that, but he had just realised another reason why he had been taking this so seriously. "I'm not about to let some utter bastard think he can manipulate Gotham more than I did." He might have been reformed, but no one upstaged him at his own games.
There were other ways people could upstage him however, and no matter how he might complain that wouldn't change. Eddie wasn't a fighter -- he didn't know martial arts, wasn't a brawler and had a light build compared to most heroes and rogues in Gotham. That meant if he wanted to keep his head attached to his neck... he needed to stay two steps ahead of Ra's Al Ghul.
Eddie grimaced at the inconvenience that caused, but it was still better than what would have killed him had he not taken a dip in the Lazarus pit. "There's no cure for cancer." He inhaled sharply, and bit his tongue to keep from coughing when smoke went down the wrong way. That had to be irony kicking his arse, right there. "Mine had progressed pretty far too. I'm used to bleeding, but coughing up half my blood supply isn't fun."
He didn't do that anymore though, so he could move away from that topic and move onto something else; perhaps Selina and her boyfriend woes? That might not be a safer topic given how she just threatened him, but it was definitely a more amusing one. "I know a few people at Pandora's Box who'd find that kinky, Selina. Maybe you should pay it a visit? It could help you unwind a little." His smile was almost roguish. "They'd probably like the leather as much I do too."
Though it seemed Selina wouldn't let him try the new cat costume, something he'd seen coming but was still a disappointment. He was eccentric enough to have very, very little against trying on others' suits. If they fit, at least. It helped if they wouldn't break his back as well, which he suspected the bat suit would do if he ever tried that beast on.
Not being allowed to try the cat leather was a loss he could deal with, particularly when Selina offered him snark material. "Is that a promise?" Eddie moved to follow when Selina gestured towards the door, and as he walked he removed his bowler so he could inspecting it, ignoring how hair that was caught between brunette and auburn fell into his eyes. "I've always loved the sight of a woman wearing my shirt." That smile was definitely roguish now.

Catwoman thought that this was being over thought. She didn't put much stock into the insane people that took on the Bat. There was a reason they were call insane. They could barely piece together a decent plan that held strong for extended periods of time. She thought this was going to blow up in one way or another. It would leak out to everywhere and try and destroy everything. The other option was that it was royally blow up in Strange's face. Big bad plans never quite worked out the way they were meant to.
She gave Eddie a shrug. I still think you need to chill. No one can outdo your master plans, She said with a wave of her hand. He had planned on so many small details arranging just the right way. He had so many layers that had to pan out just so for his grand scheme of playing Gotham like a fine tuned fiddle that she didn't think that anyone else had the mind for that kind of complexity.
Then again, he still had Ra's on his tail. So, that was where the big bad plan went down hill, but the rest of it. Huge success. Note made. His concern that someone could seemed unfounded in her mind. Eddie would always find a way to make sure he was on top in some form or another. He would never let anyone beat him for long. There was something bigger and better around the corner with this one. Bruce just always ended up catching on later and would kick his ass for it.
She had to wonder if cancer would have been more merciful to him than the Demon Head. It was a damn good question that would never be answered. Unless Edward started to fall ill again. She frowned, staring at the cancer stick in his hand. Ah ha. Such a small thing to cause such a large problem. Of course, that was just speculation as he didn't specify what kind of cancer, but she could guess considering he had said he was coughing up blood.
Reaching toward him, Selina meant to take the cigarette from him to stomp it out. Why don't we try not stealing another pit if we can, hm? She offered as a suggestion. There was no way that she could actually stop him from smoking or protect him, not that she would spend her every waking moment to that, but while he was next to her, she could try to prevent the habit and the nasty smell assaulting her nose.
Maybe she should let him smoke. His death would stop the irritating comments. Sadly, that for you, that's just for pain and I won't go to the Box to "unwind." I can do that fine on my own and would rather keep my kinks to myself. No matter how much she shared the love of leather with someone at a place like Pandora's Box, she wouldn't go there for recreation. The only reason she would step foot in that place would be to hunt down someone that pissed her off.
Selina Kyle certainly wouldn't share that a man with hair falling in his eyes caught her attention. She glanced back to see such a thing while Edward inspected his hat for some unknown reason and his hair fell forward. Oh, she so wouldn't let him know that was even mildly attractive. Turning away, she gave a small shrug. Men's shirts are comfortable, She muttered, knowing that the usually over-sized clothing was great for lounging in.
You're jacket will be enough. I'm faster than you and, look, you'll be safer, The thief stated with a sneer. Eddie had gotten too many enemies so it wasn't good for him to be seen here. Like she said, she could move faster with her cat reflexes so it would draw the gun fire away from him. He was being allowed a rare opportunity to gain her protection while finding a safe place to cool their heels. These bastards had to sleep sometime. They could get out while the getting's good then and go to their separate homes.

He supposed he could be over-thinking the possible scheme behind the place, that he was thinking there were layers that didn't actually exist. It was possible that, in the end, Selina would be right and this would just be a horde to be released. Eddie sulked at the idea, but promised to continue his investigation despite it. He couldn't leave Arkham City be, not when the riddle behind the entire thing made his skin uncomfortable.
"I guess you could be right." Eddie shifted his weight and grimaced when his shoe crunched against broken glass, confirming that this was a rather broken shop. He really didn't need the reminder, he could already see how run down the place appeared. "Maybe it's just making the ol' OCD act up."
That was definitely possible, and something Eddie found rather aggravating. He wasn't crazy. He wasn't insane. He had the papers to prove his health and sanity, thank you very much. He just had a couple little issues with compulsive behaviour and riddles that needed his attention. Arkham City was a riddle. It needed an answer. He was the Riddler, so he should be able to find it's bastard answer.
Where Ra's Al Ghul was at this time was another riddle, and one he had to keep up with if he wanted to keep his head attached to his neck. In fact he should probably keep track of Hush, the Joker, Scarecrow and Killer Croc as well. Those were a couple of boys that would probably like to see him dead in various, violent ways too.
He pouted for different reasons when Selina took his cigarette, but he didn't complain or stop her. He saw her point. Eddie was a smart man and knew he should quit, but addiction and routine stopped him from trying. He wasn't the kind of man to stop doing something that was already a comfortable part of his routine. That was probably why he never stopped pissing people off in one way or another.
Selina wasn't safe from that one bad habit either, as he wronged her and infuriated her in the past. He was probably infuriating her right now, considering how she threatened him. "There's so much I could say to that." Eddie smiled at her, and he would have tried to look innocent but knew there was no point. Selina knew he was anything but. "I bet Brucey knows your kinks too, so technically you haven't kept them to yourself."
That last comment would probably earn him a hit. Eddie had no regrets, especially with the brand of snark he could continue with. There was nothing like a conversation about Pandora's Box and Selina's sexual habits leading into one about Selina in his shirt. There was just so much material he could play with there.
"You know women normally sleep with me before I let them into my clothes." Eddie shrugged, as though the topic was as normal and innocent as the weather. "You can even ask Query." Echo had slept with him too, but the bubbly blonde was entirely more playful and more the type to take his shirt in the mornings. That reminded him that he hadn't seen either of his girls for a long time now.
Eddie actually didn't care, because he had a rather horrible habit of moving on or dropping contact with people. He was too used to using people and moving on once he didn't need them anymore. It made his attachment to Selina a rather rare thing. The same went for his friendship with Penguin.
He dropped his bowler on Selina's head and pressed it down over the cat ears, so it would stay on. "I think I'll keep my jacket and the shirt." Eddie didn't need Selina drawing attention and fire away from him, as he could handle it despite what some might think. He had endurance and a wonderful pain tolerance that had served him well in the past. "I can handle bullets." He could handle bullets if they didn't hit anything vital, at least.
"Anyway, lead the way."

Selina gave a small shrug to Eddie's pouting response. She didn't think he would let sleeping dogs lay, but that was his issue, not hers. She had offered a mundane answer and it was his problem if he wanted to lose sleep over this place. She, on the other hand, was going to wait and deal with the place when it decided to try and bite her tail. Our little tendencies just love to bite us in the ass, don't they? She commented, not finding OCD a serious matter, like her kleptomania. Just one of those quirks.
Personally, she felt she could handle his OCD better than other traits he possessed. Edward Nygma thought he could walk over people, use them, irritate the hell out of them, and get away with it. Well, maybe he didn't think he could get away with it, but he certainly didn't think the consequences of his actions were worth a damn. It was amazing that he wasn't dead yet.
She didn't understand how that was happening unless he made a deal with the devil. No angel still in good upstairs would be willing to lay a feather on him. There was no washing off that kind of dirt. Yes, it was most likely a demon of some kind that gave him more lives than she had wasted over their extensive careers.
The thief might make a deal with that same demon if he would let Eddie die. He was really asking for trouble from her. His smart ass remarks were going to get him a beating if he kept it up. She turned and swung at him, meaning to just hit his chest with the back of her hand. Brucey is too straight laced for kink, so still kept to myself, She hissed. Bruce, while on a few rare occasions hadn't minded the costumes stay on, wasn't big on variety. Just like the rest of his life. Everything was black and white.
If any of her tendencies were made known to certain persons, she might have to move permanently. She wouldn't hear the end of it if Eddie knew what she liked. It was bad enough that he made unwanted comments anyway. What if he was privy to private things such as what really pushed her buttons in a good way? She might have to break her rule of no killing. She could handle two deaths on her hands. They would both be for damn good reasons.
Adjusting her goggles, she frowned at the genius. I usually don't let men I have slept with try and squeeze into my leather, Selina retorted, hand on her hip. His lanky frame should never have tried to get the catsuit on. I think it would be a fair trade then. If she was ever forced to wear one of Edward's shirts, she would hope it wasn't one that had touched Query. She didn't need that level of gross touching her skin. Maybe that was a little harsh, but she didn't think highly of the people Eddie employed on occasion.
She adjusted her goggles as his bowler was put on her head. Now that was uncomfortable. Her cat ears were forced into an awkward position now to accommodate the hat's shape. She would deal with if for a short while. With a small frown, she pushed a small button on the side of her goggles, seeing Eddie in a heat signature rather than his usual defined self. I'm not carrying you if you get shot, She snapped, looking out the door, being a good girl and checking both ways.
Bad guys coming from the right. Hope you can keep up. With a smirk, Catwoman took off out of the door, sprinting across the back alley. She disappeared between two buildings across the way. Moving straight forward, she kept the thermal setting up, looking for anything hotter moving around the cool buildings. While she had great eye sight, sometimes it was just easier looking for movement like this than straining to see into shadows or down the street.
