General Role Play
[/center]- Writing Perspective Each post should be in third person past tense. The only time "I" or "me" should be used is in dialog or thought bubbles. To help pick dialog and thoughts out, as a suggestion, a good method is to color code, bold, or italisize.
- Powerplay/God-modding Not allowed! A player controls only his or her character
. No one is allowed to do anything for another person's characters. Allow a person to react to actions and what is said on their own. Also, no one is invincible. Even Superman gets hurt. Batman has had broken bones. You cannot dodge, block, or otherwise remained unharmed in any and all ways during a fight. Play fair. - Post Minimums We don't have a word count minimum, but we ask that everyone try for at least two paragraphs that aren't pure dialog. Muse fairies are fickle things so we understand if not every post is an absolute gem, but one-liners are absolutely out. Just give your fellow players something to work with and expand on. Details are key. Quality details, not quanity.
- Post Count Each character must have at least two posts per week. This is eight posts per month. Its an easy enough task to accomplish. If you need threads to complete this goal, you may go to the Plot Pages to see if there is somewhere you can join or create your own thread to request threads with people.
- Multiple Threads Allowed! You may have as many threads as you like with any one characters. We recommend two to three per character for management sake but that's up to you. Also, keep in mind that no two threads happen at exactly the same time. Remember your personal time line for each character.
Activity
[/center]- Characters One the first of each month an activity check will take place. If a character doesn't meet the two posts a week quota it will be put up for grabs. The application, rank, and graphics will be removed. The account will be left up for one week and a person may re-app for the character within that week. If the same person loses a character twice, then they are no longer allowed to re-app for that character.
- Threads At the same time as the Character activity check, there will be a board wide thread check. Any RP thread that has not been posted in within two weeks prior to the check will be moved to the Graveyard.
- Exemptions Of course, we here at DC:ABD understand that life isn't all fun and games. Personal things come up and computers decide to stop playing nice. Please, put a thread up in the Departure board stating you will be away. If you can, put a date when you expect to be back. If you are unsure of your return, keep us updated if you can. Unfortunately we can't hold characters forever. If an absence will be longer than one month, characters will be put up for grabs.
