The darkness. The sorrow. The night. The blah blah blah emo-related crying that Booster Gold associated with this city. Why was he here? That was a good question. Even Booster couldn't answer it. He strongly disliked this city. Despite growing up in it in the future, it still wasn't a place he enjoyed.
Maybe that was why he didn't like it, because he grew up here and he had negative ideals of what it was like. Even if that was the case, Michael wasn't about to drop how he felt about the city yet. It was still much like is in the future. Still a dreary place.
Landing on top of a building that was nothing special, Michael glanced around, fixing his visor. "Maybe we should bug Batbreath while we're here Skeets, what do you think?" Michael asked the floating robot beside him. The robot just flew to his other shoulder and blinked. He didn't really care what they did. He'd just prefer knowing what they were going to do.

Nightwing had been investigating a supposed burglary of one of Gotham’s more high-end families. The woman had claimed that the door was unlocked when she got home and she’d found her engagement ring nowhere to be found. He had wondered why the lady didn’t just where her ring- until he saw a picture of it. The thing was so huge it was ridiculous. Anyway, he had left shortly after, deciding that the cops could handle it just fine.
He spotted a familiar figure on a rooftop. He smirked to himself. All sorts of new, yet familiar, faces were popping up in Gotham. He jumped down from a higher building, landing lightly on his feet and hoping to give the fellow hero a slight start.
“Hey man,” he said, walking up to him, “what are you doing here?”
He grinned at Booster and Skeets. He had to admit, he wasn’t too upset that some more lighthearted people had been stopping by Gotham. It gave him people to joke with. People whose sense of humor didn’t usually tend to be dry as the Sahara Desert.

[OOC: Ignore the sig-colouring and costume, was for an old idea haha]
Lord, even the none ghetto side of Gotham was still dark and gloomy. If half the street lights weren't broken, they flickered and weren't even very bright. Michael was very tempted to fly off and come back with new light bulbs for each street light. He was from Gotham, 25th century Gotham. Sure it was still a cease pool of corruption and gloom, but not this bad. It at least had light. But that was one of the reasons why Michael never came here, the lack of light. He and Skeets stood out like very sore thumbs here.
He sighed and slumped, a grump coming to his face. Maybe this city just did this to people? It MADE people grumpy and emo. At least some weren't moody little jerks. Like the person who just greeted him, Nightwing. Sure he was a Batbrat, but at least he understood what a smile was.
"Being Batman" Michael commented simply, keeping his back to Dick. Raising both hands to his head, he stuck up both index fingers, mocking Batears. "I am the protector this city needs" he stated, deepening his voice as he talked. Turning around, he kept his fingers above his head and forced a scowl. "Now Robin, go put yourself in a ridiculously potentially harmful situation while I watch and critique your every movement" he added, clearly joking around at the expense of the non-present Batman.

He let out a laugh at Booster’s antics. He wished Bruce had been there, just so he could see his reaction. He didn’t like it when people insulted Bruce, but there was a difference between insulting and making fun of the obvious. He grinned and put an overly cheery expression on his face.
“Aye, aye, Batman, sir.” He energetically bounced on his feet before performing a couple flips to land on Booster’s other side. He put his hands on his hips, standing straight and puffing his chest.
“Holy costume, Batman! You stick out like Santa on Halloween!” his body shook with barely contained laughter. God, he really wished Bruce was there. It would’ve made the scenario all the more amusing. Bruce would’ve realized it was all in good nature, but it would’ve exasperated him all the same.
Nightwing sometimes wondered if he really had been that energetic and chatty when he was Robin. People always teased him about it, but he never saw the problem. He enjoyed life and didn’t hide it. Besides, his constant quips and monologue had always distracted the villains, probably the only reason Bruce didn’t put duct tape on his mouth before every patrol.

At least it was Richard who had greeted him. As much as he respected the big bad Bat, the man was a bit uptight. He had spent years trying to get the mans attention and in his good books, which was strange. He was Batman, and even he hadn't been able to see past Boosters flaws until he found those pictures of him trying to save Barbara. You'd think the World's Greatest Detective would have been able to see past his regular demeanour and seen the true hero that he was.
Richard had a sense of humour, slightly, at least. He knew to be serious, but he also knew what a smile was. He could be lighthearted and knew how to take a joke. This was all apparent when he replied to Booster's impression of his mentor.
"Please tell me you never were that campy. You aren't from a 1960's TV show, are ya?" Michael stated, shaking his head in disappointment. Lifting his head, he looked back out around the city. "I'm actually here just because. No real reason. Thought I'd check out this Arkham City thing you all have goin' on" he commented. It was an interesting concept....but even he didn't know if it'd work out well.

Nightwing shrugged, grinning sheepishly. “I was a cheerful kid, what can I say? And I actually enjoy those types of shows, F.Y.I.”
He grinned jokingly. He did actually enjoy those shows every now and then, though. He liked how bright they were. And though he didn’t believe that everything in life should be treated like a joke, he appreciated the attempt to lighten it up a bit.
He gave a dry smirk at the mention of Arkham City. “Join the club. It seems everyone and their brother has come here to see what’s going on. The baddies are coming for easy pickings, while the good guys are coming out of curiosity and I guess nothing better to do. It must be pretty quiet in the other cities.” He chuckled. This Arkham City thing wasn’t going to turn out well in the long run, he just knew it.
